What is Girls On The Run (GOTR): GOTR is an organization for girls 3rd – 5th grade. The mission of Girls on the Run is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self respect and healthy living. Over the semester, GOTR will inspire program participants to be strong, confident and connected, and by the conclusion of the program, the girls will be physically and emotionally prepared to complete a 5k run with their teammates.
GOTR Curriculum: Three part curriculum.
1. Identify: Self-Care, Self-Awareness, Knowing Self
2. Connectedness: Selecting Healthy Relationships and Keeping them Healthy
3. Empowerment: Celebrating and Sharing our Strengths

Congratulations to SJA GOTR!!  We are so proud as all participants successfully completed the 10-week program & the 5K Saturday, May 20th.

SJA GOTR team selected a department called Child Life at the Toledo Hospital as their Community Impact Project.  The team made encouragement cards, bookmarks, and goody bags for these patients.  The patients include children with cancer, children on rehab, children with asthma, general pediatrics in ICU, NICU, children after surgery, and grief support for children.

We want to extend special thanks to SJA PSO, GOTR coaches, SJA extended day, and GOTR participants & families!

SJA's GOTR program runs in the spring only.  If you have a daughter interested in becoming a GOTR participant and/or you are interested in being trained as a GOTR coach, please contact Tracy Wagner at 419-206-1249 or twag0270@gmail.com.
