The Concept of a New Parish

Bishop John Donovan declared the birth of a new parish community on July 21st, 1978. It was formed in South Toledo on the corner of Heatherdowns Blvd and Perrysburg/Holland Rd. Rapid growth in the southwest corridor of Toledo justified a new parish and thus, St. Joan of Arc Parish was established.

Construction Begins

In 1980, a school and multi service building was built. St. Joan of Arc School opened for the 1980-1981 school year. From 1980-1984, church services were held in the multi service building until the current church was built in 1984. In August of 1983, there was an addition added to the school and the church was completed in the Fall of 1984.

A Flourishing Parish

Today, we have over 1900 families in our parish and over 380 students enrolled in our school. St. Joan of Arc School is a vibrant learning community which serves students in grades Preschool - 8th grade. We work with our students and families to form Saints, Servants, and Scholars. We strive to give them the tools to be successful in school, in their future education endeavors, and for life.
